Guitar, Percussion and General Music Teacher

Woodstock School is looking for an experienced and dynamic Guitar, Percussion and General Music Teacher to start in July 2026.

PURPOSE OF THE JOB:

• The development of musical skills and knowledge in Guitar, Percussion and General Music not only helps reinforce fundamental life skills such as movement, steady beat, and singing, but also helps students learn the basics of music reading, playing instruments in a group, and appreciating different aspects of music as a listener. Music is required for Grades 6 to 9 and occurs during the school day. The curriculum includes music reading, solfege fluency, music history and world music.
• MYP music years 5 & 6 are group 6 subjects that prepare students for the two-year DP music course. DP music is a group 6 subject for grades 11 & 12 with a choice of standard and higher-level courses.
• Collaborate in the department for performances at recitals, concerts and other community events.
• Design immersive learning experiences that incorporate outdoor activities and fieldwork, leveraging Woodstock School’s facilities, our Indian cultural context, and the unique Himalayan environment
• Assess student progress using effective evaluation methods
